the last weeks
10/08/2019
Well then, here I am, back in the living room of my little suburban home in California! My last weeks in Philly have been amazing; I took every opportunity to hang out with friends, attended my graduation ceremony, and ate an indulgent amount of brunch food. Who could ask for more?! But now! My current game plan for my future,
It's pretty simple really:
I will admit, however, this whole process is much easier said than done. Waiting to take my NCLEX exam has been an agonizing process as my other classmates and I twiddle our thumbs as the state of Pennsylvania verifies our education status. Until then, it's more chilling about and job applications for me!
Anyways! Enough about school, let's talk about these pictures!

But now! My current game plan for my future,
It's pretty simple really:
- pass my license exam
- find a job
- eat more Belgium waffles

The first six were taken at the Eastern State Penitentiary (a word I still struggle to pronounce). We had a great time with a pair of headphones and the self-guided tour, it was very very cool to see the ruins of the world's first penitentiary. Fun fact! They used to do human subject testing here for skin products. The museum made absolutely no mention of it.
The prison itself has quite a bit of open ground, but the inmate cells are tiny. Each cell was big enough to just fit a bed and a toilet, the entryway into each cell was like trying to squeeze yourself into the kitchen pantry. After an amazing day of touring around the prison, our dust allergies started to act up so we moved on to grabbing boba, talking about our hopes and dreams, then retiring for the evening.
Next up, more pictures of Arlo! I had the pleasure of taking care of him while I crashed at my friend's place for the week. Technically speaking, he's not supposed to be on the couch. But how can I say no to a cute pup when he curls up with me and my favorite blanket?

I'm particularly proud of the next shot! I love how there are so much movement and interaction between the subjects on the stairway. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is literally my favorite place in the city. There are always new exhibits being displayed and it is an amazing community center for activities. On this particular night, we went out for "wine and sketch"! The premise is simple, but best part is always the company.
Can you tell I love visiting museums?
The last couple of photos take place at the Rodin Museum. I pass this museum every day and have always loved how peaceful it is and how open they are in displaying their centerpieces. One of my favorite things to do in this city is to stroll over to their museum garden, settle down, and enjoy the quiet atmosphere with a good book.
Speaking of settling down, it's time for me to log off and unpack more of my stuff! For those who have been asking, I have no idea how long my stay in California will be. It could be a few weeks or it could be for months! It's all dependent on when/where I get a job. Ideally, I'm hoping to get an operating room position in Philadelphia but alas, that all rests in the laps of the gods.
But! As I wait, I'm going to enjoy my time here and visit my much-missed friends and family. Until next time!
