museums and musing

I looked at my 22slides account today (who hosts this little website) and noticed that I've already filled up a quarter of my storage capacity (1000 photos)... and this got me thinking, I have been pretty reckless about uploading my photos lately, which sparked up a little internal debate.
I really need to decide if this site will be just a casual blog or a way for me to upload the best photography work I can offer at the moment. On one hand, I think it would be nice to keep this blog as casual as possible with photos just casually representing my daily life.
However, if I want to save my storage space (and ultimately improve my photography skills), I should be posting work that resonates with me so that I can look back in the future to reflect and grow as a photographer.

And if I were to go with the latter decision of uploading only my best work... should I go back to my older blog posts to edit and trim them down?
Part of me says I should, that way I can keep a portfolio that illustrates growth over the next couple years. Yet, another part of me feels like it would be disingenuous to my blogging style from when I first created this project for myself.
[one cup of coffee later...]
Honestly? I'm kind of liking the idea of Marie-Kondo-ing the heck out of this site. Assess each blog post. Ask myself does it spark joy? If it doesn't, throw it away.

I think a nice little compromise would be to not touch the words I've written, but instead just "trim the fat" when it comes to what photos I chose to upload at the time.
So, reader beware! If my old posts seem a bit shorter, do not fret. You'll still be getting the full dialogue from old me, there will just be less crappy photos.
Also! Life update:
I started my new job working in the operating rooms last week! Made a lot of new friends during my orientation and I finally feel like I've settled down in Philly. I've got a routine, got new goals, got more books to read, and most importantly, I have a new sofa arriving next week!
Until next time!
